Pray for opportunities to tell stories and see God answer!

A Bible College student has been learning how to tell stories. Kit and some of her fellow students were in a country town in Australia and she prayed that God would give her the opportunity to share some of the stories she’d learned with people who had not yet heard them.

One day while she was hanging out near the skate park with two other students there were three teenage boys there. She began to pray silently asking God, “Are these the people that you have prepared for me to talk to?” It was easy to start talking with them but one problem was that they were all seated in a line. Kit knew that this kind of arrangement would make it hard to have a good discussion and eye contact and so she started praying and asking God to do something about the situation if he wanted her to tell a story.

Suddenly someone suggested they get a drink and they ended up seated around a table with the three Bible college students on one side and the three teenagers on the other. This seating arrangement was much more conducive to story telling.  This seating arrangement was much more conducive to story telling.

They had let the teenagers know that they were Bible College students and after chatting for a little longer one of them asked, “Who made God?”

This was the opportunity she’d been praying for. Kit asked them if they’d like to hear a story. They looked at each other trying to decide if it would be embarrassing to agree to hear a story, then consented.

After the first story one of them said, “Isn’t there some other story about an apple?”

The student said, “Well actually that is the next story, would you like to hear it?”

This time the three teenagers were much more enthusiastic and listened closely.

Used with permission. Who could you be praying for asking that God would give you a story opportunity?
