Storytellers in India

Jim has recently had opportunities to do storytelling training in India. These are two of the testimonies from men he has trained.

I praise God that over the last two weeks I have shared Bible stories with 70 people during the Bible storytelling training.

For example, I met with one salesman and shared the Creation story. He was very encouraged and he was willing hear more stories. Therefore, I shared Abram’s story in the evangelism package. He said that he wanted to know more about Jesus Christ so I gave him a New Testament.

After this I met with a man named Rahul and told him the Transfiguration story. Then I met with five college students and shared Abram’s story of salvation from Genesis 15 and the Two Thieves on their crosses. Then I gave some study guidelines. They asked me to teach some more new things. At the end a man repented and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. We both prayed together and he confessed all his sins, asked forgiveness from God and believed Jesus as his Savior. At the end of his prayer he was very happy and said that he received peace in his heart.

From a 30 year old trainee

I was in the park trying to share Bible stories with people in the evangelism package we had been taught, but I couldn’t find anyone. It was getting dark, so I sat on a bench and started praying. After some time a boy came to the next bench where I was sitting. He was playing a game on his phone, so I started talking with him. He told me that he had come from his coaching class and was waiting to go for the next class. I shared the full evangelism module that contains two Bible stories. He participated actively by answering the more than 40 questions in the package. He was happy to listen, and we exchanged phone numbers. He told me that we can meet again some time. I was so excited to find him and praised God for sending him to me.
